Joel Scholtz

An innovative kite designer who pushed the kite industry in the US, Joel produced a number of three-dimensional and flat kites that flew well, looked great, and were reasonably priced. Incorporating international designs, he morphed them to American themes (like his Marilyn Monroe kite, modeled off the Japanese cicada kite), and made American iconic symbols into unforgettable kites (his F-16, Thunderbirds, and airplane kites).
