Growing up outside of Voss, Norway, one of the major capitals of extreme sports in the world, Olav Aleksander Bu has been active in several water, wind, and aero sports for years. Bu purchased his first power kite for kite surfing and kite skiing in 1999, and was soon taken. By the year 2000, he had started researching the use for kites as propulsion vessels and is now working on research and development for creating a high performance offshore kite-powered racing vessel.
