Students paint watercolor stripes on a kite sail and then draw a variety of different lines, with marker, to create a pattern on each stripe.
Developed and tested in conjunction with a local school and a visual arts consultant, this lesson plan was designed to integrate Washington State visual arts learning standards with a kite making activity. With specific targets, criteria and instructions, this lesson creatively teaches art learning standards.

Names primary and secondary colors
Understands and demonstrates types of lines
