A non pourous plastic paper, made of spun-bound olefin fibers. It is used in large scale kite making. Tyvek® can be cut and folded, but it is difficult to tear - making it a great kite material. Since it is "non-pourous" only tape of good quality with strong adhestive, glued with contact or rubber cement, can be used with success, a lthough artists have had good success in sewing the Tyvek® by hand or machine - and stapling works, too. Acrylics and permanent markers work well, but must be given adequate time to dry.
