It was the perfect marriage---a wonderful site of traditional Japanese gardens, the glory of handmade art papers, and art of that paper that takes flight.

Special thanks to the Japanese Friendship Garden and Hiromi Katayama of Hiromi Papers International, for bringing the Foundation to exhibit some of the most innovative use of art papers in kites. This collaboration is not to be missed. Judge for yourself from our photos below.

A special part of this programming was the opportunity to have traditional Japanese kite master, Nobuhiko Yoshizumi work with Japanese language high school students through out San Diego Schools. Over 300 students were engaged in high flying art!
